The Alpha House received an ActivateYYC grant to put up a unique welcome sign for each of their 7 permanent supportive housing buildings. This involved building the signs from the ground up, creating 7 unique designs, and putting it all together as a team. They wanted to get as many clients, staff, and volunteers involved as possible. Everyone- especially their clients- had a great time with the art portion of the project and were very proud of the final product.

A lot of the time spent on the signs involved sitting with clients, volunteers, and staff to paint the signs. This gave the team a great opportunity to get to know their clients on a more personal level, hearing their stories and interests.
