Mainstreet Bowness BIA: A total of 7 murals (building and sidewalk) were painted in one weekend at the ‘Bowness is Awesome’ Mural Jam in collaboration with Mainstreet Bowness BIA. Mixed Manifest, the group in charge of organizing the artists, DJ’s and musicians, made it a fun weekend for all to attend. Leopold’s Tavern (one of the buildings that received a mural) even offered a beer garden experience for all who wanted to attend the event. Music was playing, artists were creating, businesses got involved with customer appreciation events and a buzz was happening on Bowness’ little main street. One of the business owners’ daughter sold lemonade outside of the business to help raise money for her friend with kidney failure for the annual Kidney March event! She raised over $700 that day!

Bowness has historically been a quiet place when it comes to telling the “world” how unique and eclectic it is. But, with four volunteers and 20 participants, this opportunity has given it a start and has put Bowness and its main street on the map as a unique place to come, spend time with family and enjoy the murals and functional art that the business district is gradually adding to the community. This art event costed a total of $3,500.
