The City of Calgary moved two old storage panabodes next to the Calgary Horticultural Society office for their use. These were large, worn out-looking, brown sheds that had a highly visible presence to the users of the public community park and even the CHS team thought they were eyesores. 

In the spirit of placemaking, the team collaborated to create a community mural on the outside of the panabodes to make it more pleasing to the eye, and match the beautiful surroundings it lives in.

“It was truly uplifting how the community came together to make the project happen. Everyone who participated feels a sense of ownership in the project and the park. Park visitors real value the murals. Park users came to see our space in the park as they had read about the project in our e-news.”
