Get Together

Get Together

Saturday, June 23 was a record-breaking rainy day, but that didn’t stop 20 brave people from participating in the Get Together event, hosted by the Calgary Chinese Community Service Association (CCCSA). Get Together kicked off by meeting at Edworthy Park, and then taking part in a city walk that ended back at the original meeting spot. Once back at Edworthy Park, everyone stayed for a BBQ. Despite the rain, the event was able to engage individuals who don’t regularly participate in community events. One woman was excited about the walk, as it was the first time she had ever been to Edworthy Park.

The organizers were happy that 20 people managed to come to the event, given the downpour of rain. In order to make this event a success, the CCCSA had to book a picnic site at Edworthy Park through the City of Calgary, so a portion of the $750 ActivateYYC grant went towards that.
