In partner with Legacy Community Association, we located two free little libraries in two of Legacy’s community playgrounds which are identified by theme. One library is a “Multicultural Library” that encourages books in multiple languages for all ages and a recipe exchange. The other library is a “Play Library” that encourages the exchange of puzzles and games for all ages. We were also able to refurbish a third library that had fallen into disrepair. The libraries reflected the needs and people of our community; exchanging games and providing opportunities to help others learn about their neighbours.
These little libraries were brought to life with the help of 18 volunteers and 20 participants at the cost of $2,956.87. The feedback from the community has been incredible and members have been actively borrowing and providing donations for the libraries.
