NASARIMBA x Bow Waters Canoe Club

ActivateYYC supported @NASARIMBA in painting a mural along the the Bow Waters Canoe Club below the 17th Avenue overpass. This space is a hidden gem, running alongside the tranquil irrigation canal and multi-use pathway system in SE Calgary. It’s incredible to see the difference muralists can have on an environment, and this is a standout example of local artists partnering with equally great local community groups to create greater places in our neighbourhoods.

Here’s what the artists had to say about the project: “Couldn’t have asked for a better job site than the irrigation canal, surrounded by birds and deer and so much other wildlife. We love that this mural can be seen from the bike bridge that crosses the river into our neighbourhood. It’s a bright one, inspired by all the colours of the boats that come out to cruise the canal. We are so grateful for organizations like @activateyyc who help put these community/artist partnerships into action.”
