A Brazilian Jujitsu instructor was a hit (pun intended) at the Multicultural Games and Potluck, hosted by the Penbrooke Meadows Community Association. On Saturday, June 30, 2018 around 35 people attended the event to learn new games, mingle with neighbours and enjoy a diverse meal made by residents in the community. The event was hosted to teach residents about games from different cultures, and almost everyone in attendance learned a new self-defence move.

Penbrooke Meadows Community Association secured $750 from ActivateYYC. Since the event was held on community association land, no permits were needed. The funds went towards the activities, as well as snacks and beverages for the participants.
