Glamorgan WinterFest

On January 24, 2019, the Glamorgan Community Association hosted a WinterFest for over 150 neighbours. The three-hour event included a fun game of hockey, some snow shoeing and snow painting! Neighbours were even able to put their hockey slapshot to the test and see how fast it was with a radar gun! To get neighbours out of the cold, the organizers decided to also have board games and cookie decorating inside the community hall.

The activities weren’t the best part of the WinterFest though! The organizers said that the best part of the entire event was the volunteers’ willingness to help and run it. Since this event was held at the community association, no permits or City approvals were required. The ActivateYYC grant went towards snow shoes and making sure everyone had fun!
