February 2019 proved to be colder than usual, but that didn’t stop the Bonavista Downs Community Association from hosting an awesome Winter Festival. On February 18, around 40 neighbours were found playing hockey, skating, curling, or competing in the toboggan race. The toboggan race was a bit different though, as the toboggans were pulled by neighbours.

Two young neighbours, ages 2 and 4, got medals for their participation in a toboggan race, and the organizers say the smiles on these kids’ faces was one of the best parts of the event. No permits were needed for this event, so the ActivateYYC funds went towards equipment for the fun winter activities.
